The Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame

The mission of the Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame is to Educate and Inspire Achievement. In keeping with its mission, the Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame is the official preserver and keeper of the Chronicles of Louisiana’s Great Black Achievers. Inductees to the Hall of Fame will receive the Torches of Life Award at an official induction ceremony.

INDUCTEE CRITERIA

THE NOMINEE MUST DEMONSTRATE: Overall State contributions, of the nominee, must include the followings that are to be submitted as evidence for the Board of Directors/Nominating Selection Committee to review: Torches of Life Award at an official induction ceremony.

1. Good moral standing and ethnical character.
2. Demonstrated leadership capabilities in community activities, held positions of leadership in
organizations, private industry, education and/or government.
3. Evidence of great personal sacrifice without monetary reward.
4. Evidence of creative activities, artistic productions or outstanding publications.
5. Position and/or achievements attained as a result of former academic training.

Note: “Evidence” may be in the forms of (1) newspaper articles about the nominee’s achievements; (2) resume’; (3) support letters on character and contributions; and (4) copies of degrees, ‘ certificates or awards. Please send all evidence to evidence@lbhhf.org, thank you.
